Areas We Serve: Online Therapy Throughout Washington State

Affordable Telehealth Therapy for Every Corner of Washington, from Major Cities to Rural Communities

Washington is a state of striking contrasts when it comes to mental health access. In Seattle and Bellevue, residents can choose from many therapists. In rural counties east of the Cascades, there may be only a handful of providers serving populations spread across thousands of square miles. Nearly half of Washington's 39 counties do not have a single psychiatrist or psychologist.

This disparity is a core reason Sentio Counseling Washington exists.

We provide online therapy to clients in all 39 counties, every major metropolitan area, and the small towns and rural communities that traditional mental health services often overlook. Our telehealth model means that whether you live in downtown Seattle or a remote community in Okanogan County, you can access the same quality care at the same affordable rates.

Bringing Therapy to Underserved Washington The Mental Health Access Gap

Washington faces a severe shortage of mental health providers, but that shortage is not distributed evenly. The Puget Sound region has relatively more therapists per capita, though even there demand often exceeds supply. Rural and semi-rural regions face acute shortages that leave residents with few or no local options.

Approximately 37% of Washingtonians live in an area with a shortage of mental health providers, and only about 12% live in an area where they could expect their mental health needs to be fully met. Many counties have been designated as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas. Counties like Douglas, Lincoln, and Garfield have provider-to-population ratios more than two times worse than the national average. Residents of these communities often must travel an hour or more to see a therapist, wait months for an available appointment, or simply go without care.

This is unacceptable. Mental health struggles do not respect geographic boundaries. Depression, anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, and grief occur everywhere. People in Walla Walla deserve the same access to support as people in Seattle.

Our Commitment to Underserved Communities

Sentio Counseling Washington was built to address this gap. Online therapy eliminates distance as a barrier. A client in Republic can meet with their therapist as easily as a client in Redmond. A family in Omak has the same access as a family in Olympia.

We specifically commit to serving:

  • Rural communities with few or no local mental health providers

  • Small towns and mid-size cities outside the Puget Sound metro area

  • Agricultural regions where work schedules and transportation challenges make traditional therapy difficult

  • Communities where cost barriers compound geographic barriers

By combining telehealth delivery with sliding scale fees starting at $30, we remove the two biggest obstacles, geography and cost, simultaneously.
