Clinical Training Resources
Sentio Counseling Washington is affiliated with the nonprofit Sentio University, a graduate institution dedicated to advancing the science and practice of psychotherapy training. This affiliation allows us to make the clinical training resources below available completely free of charge to therapists, supervisors, graduate students, and training programs worldwide. These videos, webinars, and demonstrations are currently used at graduate programs in counseling, psychology, social work, and marriage and family therapy, as well as clinical training sites, supervision groups, and continuing education programs across the United States and internationally.
Our resources focus on Deliberate Practice, an evidence based approach to therapist skill development that has been shown to improve clinical competency and client outcomes. Deliberate Practice for psychotherapy applies the same structured training methods used in fields like medicine, music, and athletics to the development of core therapeutic skills. The materials below cover Deliberate Practice applications for cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic psychotherapy, schema therapy, multicultural therapy, and other major models of treatment. Additional resources address clinical supervision, case formulation, treatment planning, teletherapy skills, and therapeutic relationship repair.
We believe that better trained therapists lead to better outcomes for clients, and that access to high quality training materials should not depend on institutional budgets or program size. By making these resources freely available, we support our mission of improving mental health care for communities everywhere, including the clients we serve throughout Washington State in Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Vancouver, Bellevue, Kent, Everett, Renton, Federal Way, Spokane Valley, Kirkland, Auburn, Bellingham, Kennewick, Redmond, Puyallup, Lakewood, Sammamish, Olympia, Marysville, and all 39 counties.
